2023 WOODMEN WAY STUDENT GRANT
SAFETY FIRST, VICTORY NEXT: ELEVATING OUR CHEERLEADING PROGRAM
Ryleigh Canfield, Grace Dawson, & Colbie Jones - All Schools
This project will help students learn more about foods that they are choosing to eat in the cafeteria and hoping that they will learn to make choices about foods that are healthier. There will be visual aides that are inviting and hope to encourage children to also try some newer, healthier options.

PIONEER DAY - $1,055
Natalie Smith- Westwood
This project teaches students to learn more about pioneer life and complete activities that took place during that time. Activities will take place in conjunction with the classroom study of Pioneers/Native Americans in CKLA. The materials will help bring the activities to life and will be used for learners at every stage.

TREASURERS ALL AROUND: MINERALS AND GEMS - $1,324.20
Mariah Sirkin - Greenwood Middle School

GMS FILM CLUB - $2,477.52
Kenneth Patterson - Greenwood Middle School
This project teaches students to learn more about pioneer life and complete activities that took place during that time. Activities will take place in conjunction with the classroom study of Pioneers/Native Americans in CKLA. The materials will help bring the activities to life and will be used for learners at every stage.

PLANTING WILD - $925.76
Derek Fischer- Greenwood High School
This project will give the high school a new potato bed, Native Wildflower bed, and sunflower bed. The funds will be used to continue growing the HS Garden Extravaganza previously started with GEF grant funds. Students will learn about new foods and the construction and art classes will be utilized to build the beds and paint the beds.

ROBOTICS REGIONAL COMPETITION - $1,259.88
Chris Campbell - Greenwood Middle School
Funds will be used to acquire additional robotics materials for the Wired Woodmen team to be utilized in conjunction with their robotics competitions in early 2024.

BLAST FROM THE PAST - $800.00
Susan Lukich - Westwood Elementary
This project will create alternate activities and options during free time and indoor recess to help keep kids from resorting to using technology to stay busy. Materials will introduce Generation Alpha to nostalgic toys, games, and activities and create opportunities for students to strategize and problem solve in teams.

LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD - $2,140.92
Tammy Beasley - Northeast Elementary
This project will use the Catchbox Plus system to help students all be heard. We know that students have a great deal to share, but the combination of background noises, fear, and anxiety are some of the reasons children won't speak up or speak loudly. With this device, the children's voices will be amplified and the cube can be passed around from student to student in a way that is engaging and fun.

MAKING A DRAMA OUT OF LANGUAGE LEARNING - $861.36
Hayli Habig - Isom Elementary
This project is a language acquisition and vocabulary building initiative through the vehicle of dramatic play. It will allow students to immerse themselves in real life scenarios and engage in interactive language experiences. This is uniquely designed for language learners through the use of monthly thematic play centers and themes.

PUTTING OUR BEST FOOT FORWARD - $2,556.48
Amy Hayes - Greenwood High School
This project is designed to put a system in place that protects and organizes all of the costumes and accessories for our theater department in an effort to protect the fabric and investment. Students will learn how to properly treat, clean and store costumes for their shows and costumes will be stored and organized in a way that makes them useable and accessible.
