The Greenwood Education Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit that is dedicated to enhancing the academic opportunities for Greenwood students as well as serve the needs of our community. Our efforts are made possible by the generous donation of time, treasure and talents of our Greenwood family. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Whether you can give a few hours a year or a few hours each month, volunteers play an important role in helping GEF carry out its mission. From supporting events and student programs to assisting with special projects, there are many ways to make a meaningful impact on Greenwood students and teachers. Volunteer opportunities are flexible and can fit a variety of schedules and interests.
JOIN A COMMITTEE
Looking to become more involved with GEF? Committee members play an important role in helping bring our programs, events, and initiatives to life. Most committee opportunities require a time commitment of just 1–3 hours per month and provide a meaningful way to support Greenwood students while working alongside passionate community members and Board of Directors representatives. Committee members attend periodic planning meetings, assist with projects and events, share ideas, and help move key initiatives forward.
COMMITTEE OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE:
SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
Help plan and support GEF's community events, fundraising activities, and engagement opportunities throughout the year.
MONTE CARLO COMMITTEE
Assist in planning GEF's signature fundraising gala, held annually on the last weekend of February, including sponsorships, raffle procurement, event logistics, and guest experience.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
Participate in reviewing scholarship applications and recognizing graduating seniors as they pursue their next steps after high school.
GEF CARES COMMITTEE
Support student-focused programs that help meet basic needs and promote well-being, including Highlight Mental Health, Coats, Cuts & Cookies, School Supply Distribution, and other student assistance initiatives.
GRANTS COMMITTEE
Help review applications and support the process of awarding funds that bring innovative educational opportunities to Greenwood classrooms.
