SUPPLY BLITZ: REFRESHING OUR PE RESOURCES - $2,553.85
Tracy Havens, Jordan Rader, Jackie Ferguson, & Cody Honeycutt- Greenwood Middle School

Laura Stadtfeld & Julie Bowling- Greenwood High School
The funds will be used to purchase kitchen utensils and goods for the QUEST program

2024 SUPER GRANT WINNER
THE ROBOTS ARE COMING: BUILDING A FOUNDATION IN CODING FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS - $404.12
David Dean- Greenwood Middle School
Grant funds will be used to purchase 34 programming and coding robots that can be used by students learning at all levels. Initially, Mr. Dean will start with 15 Spheros and Mr. Esterline with 15 Makeblock MBot Mega Robotics Cars. Each teacher has 150 students each semester so 300 students will get to experience coding with these different robots in the first semester of the 2024-2025 school year alone. Since coding can be difficult for some students that may have different learning needs, funds are also being used for 4 Sphero Indi Student Kits. These are more simplified coding robots that can be used at the PreK level on up. They can be used without screens or devices. This will allow the award winners to help develop the basic coding foundations with all of our students, including with some of the Quest students, to teach them some basic coding concepts in a fun way. These kits are individually packaged in their own case so they can easily be shared with other classrooms and students that need them. Additionally, Mr. Dean and Mr. Esterline plan to integrate their new Coding Robots into their class curriculum to coincide with the national Hour of Code initiative.
