GREENWOOD GHOSTBUSTERS - $802.34

Caje Pershing - Greenwood High School 

The funds from this grant will be used by the Greenwood Ghostbusters Club to purchase supplies to build equipment for paranormal research and would include 3D printing and soldering.

STAYN' ALIVE - $2,302.03

Libby Cruzan - Greenwood High School

Funds will be used to purchase materials that allows the school to offer CPR training to all sophomore health classes, all 8th grade FACS students, teachers and all staff and coaches across the district.

TRANSLATION TOOLS FOR INCLUSIVE LEARNING - $2,449.93

Angela Jones -  Greenwood High School

Funds will be used to purchase translation devices to assist English Learner students as they adjust to the school setting and to help them get comfortable with classroom content.

PLAY WITH PURPOSE - $1,500

Cassandra Hockersmith - Greenwood High School

This project will establish a mini library of resources filled wiht books and toys designed specifically for infants through preschool to suport the learning of key developmental milestones during early childhood. The resources will be used in the Child Development classroom that plans to coordinate with the GWS Little Lumberjacks Developmental Preschool. There will also be coordination with the construction and art classes to build and paint the shelving units.

RAISING THE BAR; RECOGNIZING EXCELLENCE IN PE - $362.50

Cody Honeycutt, Tracy Havens, Jackie Ferguson, and Jordan Rader - Greenwood Middle School

The funds will be used to purchase shirts that are given to reward and celebrate PE students for their effort, attitude and teamwork. Over time the recipients will serve as an example and motivator to other students to give their best in class, not just physically but in character and leadership as well.

Sun-Young Gullery - Greenwood Hig School

The funds will be used to acquire a projector and other matierals so that murals can be implemented around the high school building - thereby making the school environment more lively and to give art student more experience.

SOUNDBYTES: LITERARY STUDIES AND DIGITAL LITERACY - $2,403.63

Howard Esterline and Jordan Lowe - Greenwood Middle School

Funds will be used to establish a Collaborative Podcasting and Video Studio for the Computer Science and Literary Studies classrooms.

CUTTING INTO CREATIVITY: EMPOWERING STEM STUDENTS WITH SAFE PROTYPING TOOLS - $2,487.45

Mark Snodgrass - $Greenwood Middle School

This project will create a lasting culture of hands on creativity and problem solving by making safe, accessible prototyping as part of the middle school STEM program. Funds will be used to purchase six kid-safe cardboard cutting tools and corrugated cardboard sheets for rapid phototyping, as well as basswood, plywood, baltic birch, and acrylic sheets for use with laser cutting and engraving.

STUDENT-CENTERED CAREER READINESS - $1,750

Rachel Martin - Greenwood Middle School 

This project will provide funds to implement Tassel Dash, a board game that allows students to utilize positive decision making skills that will impact how they advance in the game. The game is set up with real life scenarios that students will face in high school and beyond and will be used half way through the course once the class starts discussing post-secondary opportunities.
